zcM1000 Troubleshooting  

No Power:

  • Make sure unit is plugged in.
  • Turn power switch on.
  • Check fuse (120).
  • Check transformer (111) for 12VDC output.
  • Check continuity of switch. Must remove cover (101) and internal metal frame (501/502).
  • Plug transformer into known good circuit board (504).

 

Display Shows “999”:

  • Turn photo sensor switch (560) off.
  • Reset machine w/ “20” button (250).
  • Press Feed button (249). If 999 appears, bad feed motor or motor driver.
  • Press Cut button (248). If 999 appears, bad cutter motor or motor driver.
  • To determine if it is a motor or driver, switch the feed and cutter motor plugs on the circuit board and re-test. If the problem travels with the motor, the motor is the problem. If it stays with the button, it is a motor driver/circuit board problem.

 

Won’t Feed/Tape Jam:

  • With machine turned off, manually roll the knurled feed roller (312). If it turns more than 1/8 of a turn, the gear (427) should be replaced.
  • Remove the cutting head (550) and check for pieces of tape stuck on the blade or inside the cutter.
  • Remove the silicon roller holder (533). Check machine and roller holder for tape. Check for missing,
    torn or cracked silicone rollers, replace.
  • Check green, magnetic gear (528) on feed motor for slippage.
  • Wipe down feed roller and blades with IPA.
  • Make sure the blade is all the way down and the cutter pin slides into the slot on the blade, not under the
    blade.

 

Won’t Cut/Gear Noise:

  • Remove blade spring (257) from cutter head. Inspect blade guides (258/259) and housing (507) for wear and/or damage. Replace as needed.
  • Inspect cutting blade (254) for wear.
  • Remove front holder (518) and check for tape stuck in gears.
  • Inspect gears for missing teeth/wear.
